I had lower and lateral canthoplasty surgery yesterday. Because it was a reoperation, there was a bit of an extra charge on top of the original cost. Compared with other hospitals, it is quite expensive for canthoplasty, but after my first surgery, the canthoplasty reopened and my eyes became completely uneven, so I decided that even if the reoperation was expensive, I should do it at a place that is good at it. I decided without much hesitation and had the surgery.
I've had surgery several times, but this day I was more nervous and scared than ever. Before going into surgery, I had one more consultation with the manager and the doctor. As I said earlier, I've had surgery several times, but this was the first place where the doctor was waiting in the operating room before the patient. I was very nervous, but the moment I saw the doctor, I relaxed, and before surgery, when designing and in between steps during surgery, he explained things and reassured me so I wouldn't get scared, so this was the most comfortable I've ever felt for any surgery I've had.
The surgery took about two hours, and there wasn't much bleeding. I could feel how carefully the doctor was doing it, and the staff in the operating room were also very kind.
Make sure you bring a guardian with you on the day of surgery. I stayed in the recovery room for about an hour after surgery before leaving, but I couldn't see anything at all and was so dizzy that I could barely stand on my own. Today is the second day, and although my face is even more swollen than yesterday, my eyes somehow feel like I can see better? I won't know until the swelling goes down, but I'm really looking forward to it.
The one disappointing thing was that a few people at the 7th-floor desk, even when I asked something, wouldn't even look at my face and spoke rather flatly, and when I was changing clothes, they said there was someone in the changing room and told me to sit and wait, saying they'd let me know when it was free, so I ended up leaning against a chair in front of the counter where people were walking by, waiting helplessly with my eyes not even open and the stitches sticking out everywhere. But even after the changing room was empty, they still didn't call me, so after waiting a long time I eventually went and found it myself.
