I found out about it while looking for reconstruction after my first alar reduction surgery, which I wasn't happy with. Because the incision goes up above the nostril, it does leave quite a bit of scarring. And although it improved somewhat, I can't really say it improved as much as I wanted. The scars make it look shadowed, so the alar area can also look droopy. I think it would probably be okay if I managed the scars well, but maybe because I had such high expectations for the surgery, I still feel a little disappointed.
