6-month review after SMILE vision correction

I’ve worn glasses since I was 6, and my vision with glasses is about left -0.5 / right -1.0. Even with glasses, why was there a difference? It’s what people commonly call anisometropia (uneven vision). Still, I hated wearing glasses and found them uncomfortable, so I made up my mind to get it done before I got any older and went during my vacation last summer. When I went in, there were a lot of people in the lobby. As expected, summer vacation really gives a boost... It was done as same-day testing and same-day surgery, and the tests took about 1 hour and 30 minutes. I think I did more than 10 tests. Fortunately, everything was fine except for mild dry eye. Then, after discussing with the counselor, I was deciding between SMILE vision correction and SMILE vision correction Pro, and I went with SMILE vision correction. The Pro version was a bit more expensive haha;; SMILE vision correction + corneal strengthening cost 2.9 million won. After the counseling session, I spoke with the doctor, and for anisometropia they said that even after surgery the left eye would probably be around 0.5 to 0.7. They also said that because I’d lived with anisometropia for a long time, I probably wouldn’t feel much discomfort, so I didn’t need to worry too much. I had already thought that myself from the beginning, so I didn’t feel much pressure about that. What I was more worried about was whether the surgery itself would even be possible. And the doctor was really confident. Seeing that made my fear ease a little. So I had the tests in the morning, surgery in the afternoon, grabbed a quick lunch, and then went ahead with the procedure. The surgery itself, after putting in the anesthetic eye drops and waiting about 10 to 15 minutes, took about 10 minutes for the correction. Honestly, it wasn’t that long to the point I thought, is it really over this quickly? They said that after it ended I might feel some eye stinging, burning, or blurriness, but in my feeling the pain was like the level of onion-cutting eye sting..? It was bearable, and the blurriness was like a little condensation on glasses. I live in Incheon, and I was able to take the subway home from Gangnam by myself. And from evening, I could see my vision gradually improving. That was fascinating.. From the day of surgery, I diligently used the eye drops, and the next day after removing the protective lens, they told me it went well. For about a week, because I’d just woken up, my vision was poor in the morning, but it got better by afternoon, and in the evening there was a little glare. They said my pupils are naturally large, so I might have some glare, and that this would gradually improve with time. After a month, the trouble seeing in the morning gradually decreased and the glare also decreased, and from that point on it felt no different from just wearing glasses. It’s been about 6 months now, and I have no glare, dry eye, or blur, and even in the morning I can see well when I wake up. I kind of regret not doing it earlier and waiting until my 30s.
