An older brother I know asked which hospital I had my LASEK done at, so I looked it up and went there. It was near my home, so it seemed like it would be easy to go for follow-up care, and since the older brother who had surgery there two years ago was doing fine, I did not shop around any further and just went ahead with surgery. On the day of surgery, the light was so bright I could not even open my eyes. People said LASEK hurts for a long time, and I was so full of confidence about having plenty of time that I tried it bravely and almost died. Still, now, aside from dry eyes when I am tired, the nighttime glare is not too bad. Right after surgery, both eyes were 1.2; currently 1.0. They said my corneas were thick enough that I could even do it one more time, so I guess it dropped because I kept looking at my phone at night. Even so, my eyes are strong and I have had none of the side effects I was worried about. I can drive at night well too.
