I was debating whether to get LASEK surgery and ended up getting it, and overall I am pretty satisfied. The surgery itself finished faster than I expected, and while I was lying there, the only thing that felt a little fascinating was the laser going off. But what was harder was after the anesthesia wore off rather than right after the surgery. My eyes stung and kept tearing up, so for a day or two I basically kept my eyes closed. Still, after about 3 to 4 days, the pain had eased a lot, and after about a week I was able to go about daily life without much trouble. At first my vision was blurry and my focus felt a little unstable, but as time passed it gradually became clearer. Now I can live without glasses, which is definitely more comfortable, and I even found myself thinking a little about why I did not do it sooner. Of course, during the recovery period I had to use artificial tears often and be careful not to overuse my eyes, so some management is needed. Still, looking at the whole thing, the inconvenient period was short, and the vision correction effect was satisfying, so I think it is a surgery worth considering if you are thinking about LASEK.
