I've worn glasses for 17 years, and I didn't wear contacts that often. Based on contacts, my prescription was -4.25 / -6.0 with anisometropia, and I also had pretty severe astigmatism. During the pandemic, wearing glasses with a mask while going to work was so annoying because of the fogging, and after struggling with the usual discomfort that all glasses wearers know, I finally went for it. The tests were annoying, but the surgery was very assembly-line and was over incredibly, incredibly, incredibly fast. By the time they were doing the second eye, I could already see much better. There was absolutely no pain during the surgery, either. After it was over, I went home, took a two-hour nap, and when I woke up, it was already just a little blurry, but I could see so well T_T I was moved... I don't have dry-eye pain or light scatter, but my eyes are dry, and since I was always on my phone too much anyway, I was already dry before, so I can't tell whether it's from the surgery or just how I was before. Anyway, I am truly grateful for 21st-century medical technology. I hope medicine advances even more so that if my vision drops again in 10 years, I can do it again..
