First of all, I really, really, really recommend lens implantation. It honestly feels like a whole new world.
My eyes stung a lot for about 5 days, which was hard, but after that, aside from some eye discomfort when I was tired, they were not that dry and felt good.
I had the surgery at D T A Y O S S A. The reason I chose that hospital was because my close older sister is really, really picky, but she said the doctor explained things well and seemed very confident, and I was told that only lens implantation was possible
Since I was 20, I had exams at 5 places over 10 years, and when I got checked 4 times in Gwangju and Seoul, they all said only lens implantation was possible. But 3 years ago, at a local hospital in Jeolla-do, they suddenly said that SMILE laser might barely be possible. It was the first time I had even heard of it, and because I did not trust local hospitals, I was too anxious and did not do it.
This February, I really felt I could not wait any longer, so I got an exam in Busan, and again they said only lens implantation was possible, so I went to B O N N N in Seoul with the intention of having surgery in the first week of May. But out of nowhere they said LASIK would be possible I was so confused that in mid-May I went back to Seoul and had exams at D R S M and Y Y R Y, both of which are said to be conservative eye clinics, and both said only lens implantation was possible. I just laughed and wondered who on earth had talked about LASIK from where.....
Anyway, I had the surgery on the 16th and went for my follow-up on the 22nd, and both eyes measured 1.0, and I can see well, so I am truly happy, and I hope everyone does it!!!!!
* For reference, after the exam, some places let the doctor make the final decision after seeing the doctor, while others have the examiner say in advance that the surgery seems possible. I just do not trust places like that and avoid them.... Even if they can tell from rough numbers, I think the doctor has to be the one to say it..
