It has already been 5 months since I had double jaw surgery from Director Shin Hee-jin at Eee Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery!! I had a slight underbite and facial asymmetry, so I had strong appearance-related complexes since I was young. I avoided photos taken by others and gradually stopped taking selfies, and every time I looked in the mirror I only saw flaws, so I started thinking about surgery. After consulting at two well-known hospitals, Director Shin Hee-jin at Eee Oral Maxillofacial Surgery examined me much more carefully, and where another hospital said only IVRO was possible, she explained that SSRO would also be fully possible. That built trust, so I decided to have the surgery. At the 3-month mark, the major swelling had almost gone down, and there was a feeling that the swelling around the cheeks and nose was leaving a bit more slowly. But compared with photos before surgery, I felt much calmer because my current appearance looked much more natural and better, and even though it was not for treatment purposes, it felt like a long-standing complex was being put to rest, which helped me a lot psychologically. H_H My sensation has still not fully returned, so there is a slight awkwardness when using facial muscles, but I have never had pain, and after the period I was told about, I could slowly start eating soft foods, so daily life was easier than I expected! By the 4-month mark, everyone I met after a long time kept saying my face had become really small, and even my family said the swelling seemed almost gone. Even though I can still see a little leftover swelling when I look in the mirror every day, the overall facial line has become more refined and my impression much softer, so I am extremely satisfied! The commonly feared widening of the nose did not feel excessive, and after hearing that any temporary appearance might be due to lingering swelling in the cheeks, I was able to accept it naturally as part of recovery. At 5 months now, the change looks very big to me, but surprisingly, people around me usually do not realize I had surgery unless I tell them, and many think I simply lost weight, so the most satisfying thing is that the change looks natural. There is still a dull, heavy feeling around the jaw, but I was told that this can improve over time, so I am not too worried. Other than that, I am living daily life with almost no pain or discomfort. As my face has gradually settled and improved during recovery, I can feel that the changes ahead will be interesting too! Above all, I am very grateful to Director Shin Hee-jin for carefully considering both function and appearance when performing the surgery, so I am leaving this honest review in hopes that it will also help others who are considering double jaw surgery !!!!
