Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

3 months after double-jaw surgery! My bite fits and chewing is so much easier now

I was born with a protruding lower jaw and facial asymmetry twisted to the right, and when I was younger I tried to solve it with orthodontics alone. But as time went by, the jaw pain got worse, and every time I took a photo I got more and more stressed, so I eventually decided to undergo double-jaw surgery. The surgery was performed at Iuyoo Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. From the consultation to post-op recovery, they guided me in a systematic way, which gave me a lot of trust, and even during the actual recovery process, I was able to recover smoothly thanks to the medical team's careful care. The first few weeks after surgery were hard because of pain, swelling, and phlegm, but things gradually improved over time. At week 3, the stitches were removed and I started jaw exercises, and even the right jaw muscles that I had not used much before started moving little by little. The swelling and bruising also went down a lot, and my face looked much more natural. It has now been 3 months since surgery, and I have started orthodontic treatment again in earnest. My bite, which did not fit before, now fits properly, so chewing is much easier. I am satisfied that I can use all of my teeth, and the discomfort from surgery is almost gone. I still have some numbness in part of my lower jaw and I avoid hard foods, but it does not interfere with daily life at all. When I think back on the difficult recovery process after surgery, I am reminded again of how grateful I am for my current state. Every day when I look in the mirror, I check my changed appearance and feel satisfied, and I am looking forward to the remaining orthodontic treatment and pin removal surgery. Now that 3 months have passed, I really think deciding to have the surgery was the right choice.
