It has already been a year since I had double jaw surgery from Dr. Kim Jong-yun at Euiyoo Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery :) Time has really passed quickly. I had a severe underbite, so I was teased a lot since childhood, and after hearing that my overall impression looked strong, I naturally started considering double jaw surgery.
The most important thing for me while looking for a clinic was a place that would improve only what was needed, without overdoing it. Euiyoo Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery had a very thorough pre-op evaluation, which made me trust them, and I especially liked that I could objectively understand my facial structure through detailed tests including CT!! The fact that I could understand my overall facial shape and receive only the necessary treatment also felt like an advantage, and I was impressed that they explained things while considering not only cosmetic aspects but also bite and functional aspects too haha
Now that it is the 12-month mark, what I can clearly feel is that my face as a whole has become more stable and my facial line has settled in naturally. In particular, as the swelling dramatically went down, my contours became much clearer, and rather than feeling overly changed, it feels softly refined, which I like even more! In the beginning or at a few months, I really did sometimes feel that things were moving slowly because of the swelling, and I honestly worried about when it would go down..!
But as time passed, it really was amazing how little by little everything settled. haha Especially after the 6-month mark, the changes continued more naturally, and now, after 1 year, I feel like all the worries I had back then were needless. The swelling process can feel like a downside at first, but in the end I felt it was part of the process of letting the face settle into place! So if anyone is worrying about swelling after double jaw surgery, I hope you do not get too anxious:) Recovery speed differs from person to person, but as time passes the face keeps settling and becoming more natural!!
Now, every time I look in the mirror, I think I really made the right decision, and I no longer get stressed about my jaw like I used to. Taking photos has become so much easier and more enjoyable! Looking back after 1 year, it was not an easy decision, but because both the functional and aesthetic aspects improved, I feel it was a choice that clearly increased my quality of life. I am even more excited because I feel like it will continue to stay natural and stable like this :) If this review did not come from the bottom of my heart, I do not think I would have written it at all. Once again, I would like to thank Dr. Kim and all the staff at Euiyoo Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery haha!!
