Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

6 months of stability after double jaw surgery with Dr. Shin at Iyoo Oral Surgery~~~

As I reached 6 months, I think this was the time when it really felt like the surgery was finished. In the beginning, the swelling made my face feel awkward, and I kept worrying about how much longer it would take to become natural, but now I hardly worry about that anymore. The biggest change I feel is the swelling. At first the swelling felt firm, almost like flesh, but as it gradually went down, it now feels like it has mostly settled. Even when I look in the mirror, it no longer feels like I look swollen as before; the impression is much more that the overall lines have become neat. The stress I had about my side facial line, which was the reason I decided on surgery in the first place, has also decreased a lot, and I think my confidence naturally went up with it. Functionally, things have become much more comfortable too. I can eat with almost no restrictions, and even the action of biting and tearing food is now natural. In the past I was cautious and awkward about using my jaw, but now it has recovered to the point where I do not need to think about it much. Daily life itself has returned to being not very different from before surgery, so I almost never feel uncomfortable. Overall, I feel that the 6-month mark is when both the appearance changes and functional recovery become stable. There may still be very small changes ahead, but in the big picture I feel like I am already close to the finished result, so I feel much more at ease.
