Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

2-month review after double jaw surgery!! I can finally enjoy eating

I've had an open bite since childhood, so eating was really inconvenient Especially foods like noodles or meat that need to be cut before chewing were hard to bite through with my front teeth, so I always ended up using only my molars,,,As time went on, the functional side became harder, but the appearance side, like looking prognathic, also gradually became a stress. I kept worrying when taking photos or smiling, and my confidence dropped a lot So I decided to have double jaw surgery because I wanted to improve both the functional issues and my appearance-related complex at the same time! The biggest reason was my family’s recommendation! My younger brother had already gotten double jaw surgery at Euijeongbu Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and watching his recovery process and results firsthand gave me trust naturallyWhen I had the consultation, the doctor explained my skeletal condition, bite, and asymmetry in really detailed terms, and also carefully explained the surgical direction and recovery process, which made me trust them! They answered each question kindly one by one, so after the consultation I felt certain that I should have surgery here!!It has already been 2 months since my surgery!!Up to the one-month mark, I still strongly felt like I was in recovery, but now daily life is definitely much more comfortableThe swelling has gone down a lot compared with the beginning, and people around me said it seems like I recovered faster than expected! There is still a slight fullness in the cheeks, but the overall facial line seems much more natural. The meals have also become much easier!!Now I can eat rice and noodles, not just porridge or liquid foods I still avoid chewy or hard foods, but I can eat soft foods without much discomfort! What surprised me the most was being able to cut noodles with my front teethBefore surgery, eating noodles was really hard because of the open bite, but now being able to naturally cut them with my front teeth is so amazing and satisfying!!I am also steadily doing mouth-opening exercises, and right now I can open about three fingers' width. I can definitely feel that it has improved compared with before! The swelling and sensation also feel like they are recovering little by little over time, and overall the recovery seems to be progressing steadily and wellIt is not completely healed yet, but I am looking forward to it becoming even more natural as time goes on!!
