6-Month Review After Double Jaw Surgery + Two Types of Contouring

Concerns before surgery: During orthodontic treatment in childhood, I began to notice malocclusion, protruding mouth, facial asymmetry, and other appearance and health concerns, and I suffered from them enough to decide on surgery. Reason for choosing the hospital: It was a private clinic with one specialist doctor, so from the beginning it felt more professional than other hospitals, and I also liked that they clearly explained the limits of the changes possible after surgery. Aside from difficulty breathing, the pain was tolerable. During the 2-day hospitalization after surgery, the nurses were on standby 24 hours a day and took good care of meals, breathing, and everything else, which was great. They also handled postoperative care carefully and explained the precautions well. - 6 months - It has already been 6 months since the surgery. It feels like Christmas was just yesterday, and yet half a year has already passed. Even at the 1-month mark, breathing was uncomfortable, eating was uncomfortable, and sleeping was uncomfortable, but now I have recovered so much that everyday life is no longer a problem. It doesn’t feel like all sensation has fully returned yet, but compared with 3 months, the tissue seems to have settled a bit more and feels more natural. The part I am most satisfied with is definitely the improvement in my protruding mouth, and as time passes the change seems more noticeable, which makes me happy. The side view that used to bother me in photos now lets me face the camera more naturally. The swelling still has not gone down completely, and they say it usually takes close to a year, so I am looking forward to the changes ahead. I spent a long time thinking before deciding on surgery, but looking back now, I think it was the right choice. I hope this helps anyone with the same concerns.
