Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

Started orthodontic treatment in my late 20s

I started orthodontic treatment at Dream Dental Clinic in Gangnam. To be honest, I had no intention of getting braces. When I went to the dentist as an elementary school student, they told me there would be no need to do it because if I wasn’t going to have double-jaw surgery, my teeth would just go back anyway, so I just lived like that until now. Since I never had a reason to look into other people’s mouths, I thought my teeth lining up perfectly when the upper and lower teeth met was normal. But after going to another honest clinic for cavity treatment, they told me that as I got older my teeth would weaken and might all break, and that if I wanted to use my teeth for a long time, orthodontic treatment would be good, and since it seemed possible only through surgery, I should research hospitals carefully. I chose Dream Dental Clinic because, except for double-jaw surgery, I really didn’t think I could do any other surgery. My lower jaw protrudes, and it is also slightly twisted to the left, so my upper and lower teeth do not meet well. It is a large sum for me, but I started because I thought I should do it now if I wanted to live like a normal person later! Since the priority is correcting the underbite, I am currently wearing a removable appliance, and later I will switch to braces with wires. It has only been two months since I started wearing the appliance, so there is no dramatic effect yet, but the person closest to me said my face seemed a bit less twisted, and when I look at photos, it does seem a bit corrected, so that’s surprising. It is funny to think that way after only two months, but I think it will definitely get better over the next three years, so I’m looking forward to it! The photo is a pre-treatment photo taken with a camera at another clinic..^^ It is definitely quite twisted, so I’ll keep checking whether it changes gradually!
