Most reviews posted here are at most one year post-op, so as someone four years into my ‘fake nose,’ I’m bringing my review. I came back after a long time to look around, and there are many people here deliberating over everything from tip material to the line. There are also many opinions that if you have surgery using septal or ear cartilage, the tip will droop quickly, but mine has remained stable for four years without dropping. It may differ depending on your tissue characteristics and the surgeon’s skill, but I want to say these materials do not inevitably droop. I even had fairly intensive columellar correction, and I’m still doing well... haha.
The ideal line is clearly different for each person, but if you want surgery with a line that suits you, please check review photos in advance to see what the surgeon’s aesthetic sense is like. Don’t just skim one or two and turn off your phone; go back through last year’s and the year before’s reviews, and dig through them as if you intend to see every review posted online. I also often thought, “Oh, this place looks good,” after looking at only one or two, then changed my mind after seeing older reviews....
I had a round, bulbous nose, so I already liked the feeling of a straight line, but at the consultation they told me that a line dropping perfectly straight from between the brows to the tip could make me look masculine. So I had a very slight curve added. It was the doctor’s suggestion, and now that time has passed, I think it was a good decision. My eyebrows are fairly dark, so I probably would have looked masculine with a perfectly straight line.
People say you always have to be careful because you never know when nose surgery might cause trouble, but I wanted to let you know that at four years post-op I’m still doing well without any problems. Being careless is an issue, but worrying too much isn’t helpful either if you’re going to have the surgery anyway....
