Because of my dorsal hump, the bridge of my nose became more voluminous in the middle, making my already-long nose look even longer.... There were many contouring methods for nose concerns, such as ways to shade a bulbous nose or the midface, but I could not find any shading method that actually concealed a dorsal hump....^^ I tried highlighting extensively while avoiding the protruding area, but honestly it did not help much....^^
My first concern before surgery: “Nose surgery is so scary. Should I just fill the indented area with filler?”
Filler does not have many long-term reviews, and even the available ones were not very positive.... Many people were initially satisfied but later regretted it, saying it dissolved, spread, or was a waste of money, so I gave up on that option.
My second concern: “If filler is not suitable, what other procedures are there?”
I looked into it, but nothing seemed suitable for me. For correcting a dorsal hump, shaving it down or performing osteotomy seemed to be the best methods....^^
My third concern: “I like the height of my nasal bridge itself, but if I put silicone in the bridge and raise the tip, won’t it look too artificial?”
I worried that a higher bridge might make my eyes look closer together and seem awkward. But I learned that surgery without an implant was possible. Seeing that people like me, who had a dorsal hump but not a low bridge, usually had the hump shaved down and the tip raised slightly, I suddenly gained courage....^^
I chose my clinic by carefully checking whether it had many similar cases, whether those cases turned out natural and good, and the surgeon’s experience. I think choosing a place that has handled many different cases is indeed important. However, when I made a list based only on that and went for consultations, there were also places where the surgeon’s explanation was disappointing or the consultant pressured me, so personally visiting and filtering them out seems important too.^^
There is still some swelling. The surgeon told me not to worry because the tip would come down more and the bridge would become lower than it is now. Considering the swelling, I think it turned out clean and neat with a straight-natural line and no unnecessary bulk, so I am very curious and excited to see the fully healed result.^^ I also really like how smooth the bridge is without an uneven step after shaving the hump and adding autologous costal cartilage to the tip. From the side, my nose does not stand out awkwardly after surgery, which I love. Before, my nose was so unattractive that people’s eyes went to it first, so I am incredibly moved...
