Nose looks more refined when it’s a bit sleeker...

No, my nose was not the kind of bulbous nose where the nose itself was super large, but from the front the tip looked a little spread out, so it was the kind where the nose bothered me more in photos. It only looks sleek when it’s adjusted a little slimmer through correction? That said, the tip was not extremely round or heavily spread out, so I thought I probably didn’t need alar reduction. So I wanted to focus on balancing the overall look and the tip shape rather than just raising the bridge!! At the first clinic I visited, they talked about a donated rib cartilage + silicone combination and also recommended alar reduction together??? But even after hearing the consultation, I kept thinking my alar base wasn’t the type that was extremely wide, so did I really need to cut it to reduce it? Of course the clinic probably recommended it for a sharper front-view effect, but I wanted something that looked naturally refined rather than too artificial. So I left out alar reduction for now and consulted with other clinics too. Then I had a consultation at Saegim, and what I liked most there was that it didn’t feel like they were trying to add every possible procedure. They first asked what kind of nose shape I wanted and which part of my current nose bothered me the most, and then explained everything based on that, which I liked. Especially since I kept saying I didn’t want a nose that was too pointy or looked obviously done, and it felt like they understood that exactly?! Rather than just pushing for a higher tip, they explained things in a way that would match my face, so during the consultation I found myself nodding without even realizing it... I went ahead with donated rib cartilage + silicone, and I did not have alar reduction. Before surgery I worried whether it would be okay not to reduce the alar base, but now that I think about it, I don’t think I really needed it in my case. Once the tip was refined, the spreading look became less noticeable relatively, and my overall impression feels cleaner? Since the tip was supported with costal cartilage, the tip also naturally became sleeker. But for severe bulbous noses, it might be better to do it.. I think that also depends on the person. After the surgery, because of the swelling, the nose tip looked too high and felt a little stiff, so I kept worrying in front of the mirror every day for nothing, but as time passed and the swelling went down, the line gradually became more natural. What I want to tell people who are deliberation about nose surgery is that you do not have to do every procedure that gets recommended during consultation. Procedures like alar reduction can be very effective for people who actually need them, but I think it’s important to look at what type of nose you have first. It might be dramatic if you do it, but people who want a natural result like me may dislike it for no reason.. Anyway, after surgery I also got aftercare and walked around whenever I had time, going back and forth. I think most of the big swelling and minor swelling were mostly gone after about 2 weeks?? 3 weeks? But the faint swelling seemed to last about 3 months. They said spicy foods make you swell more because of heat, but I love tteokbokki and chicken feet too much to give them up..^^ Anyway, these days there are so many people trying to get nose surgery that if you feel like you are stressing too much about it, I recommend doing it.. My image looks so much cleaner.
