Originally I only went to consultations for lower under-eye fat removal. I’d always heard that I looked tired because a little fat under my eyes was protruding.. I can cover dark circles with makeup somehow, but there was really no way to fix that puffiness.
While I was getting consultations like that, the director also brought up double eyelids for me. I already had a double eyelid crease, but it was only distinct when I was well-rested, and if I got even a little tired one side would almost lose its line, so it looked like it had loosened up. That was actually a pretty big stress for me too. Every time I looked in the mirror, the two sides looked different, so I was conscious of it when taking photos, and no matter what I did with makeup, it would end up looking uneven, which I really hated
So after thinking it over, I decided to have double eyelid surgery, epicanthoplasty, and upper canthoplasty together! I didn’t just visit one hospital; I went to consultations at about five places, but the one where I had surgery, Ollo, left the strongest impression. The consultation was incredibly thorough.. They checked things one by one, like my eye-opening strength, left-right differences, existing crease, and skin condition, and explained why this surgery was needed. The way they brought things up first without me even having to mention them? That really stood out to me, if I should put it that way.
I liked that they didn’t just recommend a pretty line, but talked about what would suit my eyes. They even checked things like whether I had ptosis and whether the pupil exposure ratio was even between both eyes using some kind of machine, starting from tissue characteristics and all that, to the point that I was like, “They check even this at a plastic surgery clinic?” It was that meticulous.
I really thought I wouldn’t be nervous at all when I got double eyelid surgery, but surprisingly I kept feeling tense... Maybe they noticed, because they kept talking to me comfortably and helping me relax, so I think I went in feeling more at ease than expected. Right before the surgery, they checked the crease again and made sure it matched the feeling I wanted, checking right up until the end, which reassured me
I had buried double eyelid surgery + epicanthoplasty + upper canthoplasty + lower under-eye fat repositioning together. The bruising wasn’t as bad as I expected, but the swelling was quite significant. I’m just the type who swells easily no matter what I do.. Especially for the first few days, my eyes felt heavy and dry, but after about a week it gradually got better, and each time I went in for follow-up care, I could tell the swelling was going down faster? After about a month, daily life was fine, and around two months later the lines stabilized and looked much more natural. From that point on, I could wear the makeup I wanted however I liked!
My under-eyes were also smoothed out nicely, so I almost stopped hearing that I looked tired, and the double eyelids no longer changed depending on how rested I was, which was the most satisfying part. Before, every time I was tired and opened my eyes, one side would be darker and the other lighter, you know... Before surgery I worried a lot while looking up all sorts of things for no reason, but now I even think I shouldn’t have stressed so much It’s still becoming a little more natural, so I’m planning to wait a bit longer
