Hmm... I live overseas. I was just going to get checked out, and since I was coming to Korea anyway, I booked consultations at two places after asking whether it was a case of nose reconstruction. I was advised to remove the L-shaped silicone because my skin had become thin, so I went ahead and had it removed right away. I had the surgery 25 years ago, and over the years I had once sought a consultation about removal because I was worried about complications, but back then I was still young, and they sent me away saying many people regret silicone removal afterward... Anyway, I'm glad the feeling of my nose being pulled and the subtle ache is gone. The swelling still hasn't gone down completely, so my mom says it looks exactly the same as before removal, but to me the nose has definitely become a bit smaller and the sharpness has become more natural. Still, I started worrying that as time passes it will keep getting smaller and eventually become similar to my original nose shape. I wrote a review after the consultation at the end of June, and I chose a place that removes it through a closed approach. In the end, no one really knows exactly how it will turn out after silicone removal (the doctors who consult you don't know what my old nose shape was either), and I decided that if there were no major problems, it would probably end up similar to my original nose shape. So far, it's okay. In fact, I like it more after the silicone removal, but the swelling will keep going down... T_T I searched for a lot of posts about L-shaped silicone removal in the nose, but somehow there didn't seem to be as many reviews as I expected. But after actually having it removed, honestly... I don't really have much to say? I feel like my nose will keep shrinking as the swelling goes down and eventually settle into some shape I still can't quite tell, I guess. But my mind is more at ease than before removal, and honestly deciding to remove it in the first place seems like the hardest part. And I'm really grateful that the swelling is going down slowly. If the shape had changed too drastically right after the removal surgery, I think the sense of loss would have been huge, like feeling disconnected from the old me, but it's not like that. A review for day 10 after silicone removal and there's not much to say. To sum up, the swelling still hasn't fully gone down, so the nose shape is not that different from before removal yet (though I do like it better because it looks more natural. The silicone was 6 mm and very high). It feels like I need to prepare my heart slowly for what it will become once the swelling is fully gone? I'm grateful that it will change little by little day by day instead of all at once... I wish I had more to write in a review, but the hospital I went to had the doctor check the capsule too and remove it appropriately as needed, which I liked. After the surgery, there wasn't anything special besides saying the removal was clean and well done;; I'll update again later when more time has passed... I have high myopia, so it's inconvenient without glasses, but I'm wearing my glasses over the splint, and that's been pretty uncomfortable...
