The day I had everything removed from my nose (scrolling warning)

I had my nose completely removed this morning at 10 a.m. today. (My post got deleted, so I rewrote it from scratch and a day ended up passing TT) Originally I was going to consult the so-called big three that are often mentioned here, plus [Clinic A] and [Clinic B], but their available dates were all kind of far off... So I thought I’d take my time and made an appointment, but over the weekend I suddenly noticed a hole at the tip of my nose (about the size of a lancet needle) and it was also oozing fluid, so I was very worried. Yesterday I went to a nearby plastic surgery clinic thinking I’d just get a light consultation, but they said it was urgent. They said the implant was right on the verge of breaking through TT. There was already a hole, and the redness was severe, so they asked when this started. I said that since early this year it would sometimes turn red and sting, but at first I thought it was a pimple, and because it strangely kept happening in the same spot, I went to the hospital where I had surgery in April, and that’s when I learned it was a complication. I said I had planned to have it removed around fall. At first I thought it was a pimple because it kept appearing in exactly the same spot, then improving a little, then happening again, so I found it strange and went to the hospital where I had my first surgery on April 1 for a checkup. But instead of seeing the chief surgeon who performed the operation, they said I would first have to see another specialist, and only if necessary would they set up an appointment with the chief surgeon. (That was absurd too) So I had the consultation first, but the specialist just said it looked like a simple skin issue, that I was fine, that it was not a complication, and that they would prescribe antibiotics just in case. No!! That was not why I took a bus at dawn, wasted time, wasted annual leave, and wasted money... When I said I didn’t come because of a pimple on my nose, but because the same spot kept getting red and stinging and I had made time to come in, they finally scheduled me with the chief surgeon, and even then the earliest was two weeks later!! I came back on April 17 and finally met them, and as soon as they looked, they said it was a postoperative complication, that the skin color had already turned red, and that I needed urgent revision surgery. That was when I also learned there was artificial cartilage in my nose. So I said I wanted full removal, but they said if they only removed it, the nose would collapse, so that was not possible. They were extremely firm that I absolutely had to have revision surgery, and they kept steering everything toward revision only. I think it was something like ear cartilage plus autologous dermis / costal cartilage, but since I was a previous patient, they said they would only charge material costs and not labor, and told me to book quickly, so I just said I’d decide after looking at dates later and came back. A few days later I realized it wasn’t okay. I had not been thinking about revision surgery at all, but I also thought removal was not an option at this hospital!!! I don’t know about now, but when I had my surgery, the chief surgeon who performed it saw me only once, when the packing was removed right after surgery, and after that, postoperative care was handled by another specialist who did not perform the surgery. Because of that, they could not check all the stitches, so stitches that were not removed in time went under the skin and turned black like dots, and I had to get a dissolving treatment. When I went in for a follow-up and said I wanted to see the chief surgeon, they said they were in surgery and that another doctor would check the progress by looking at the chart and photos from the operation. In the end, I never got to see them again. A friend who had surgery there with me still curses that place. My friend had removal at that hospital a few months after surgery because it was uncomfortable, but they said the removal had not been properly completed and that they would have to do it again, and that they had been used as a guinea pig... I ended up talking only about the hospital where I had my first surgery. Anyway, it was already in that state back then, but they kept insisting that revision surgery was the only answer, so I started to think it was just sales tactics and did not realize how serious the condition of my nose was, taking it lightly. Everyone except me, including my family and friends, could tell at a glance that it did not look okay, so they kept worrying. But this time, starting Thursday, it suddenly became severely red, pus started coming out, and it kept getting worse. By the weekend, pus, blood, and drops of fluid were continuously coming out. Since it got bad so suddenly, I was full of worry, and when the hospital said it that way too, I booked surgery for the very next day on the spot. I had thought about doing it on July 16 because it was a holiday for Constitution Day, but they said I would not be able to hold out until the following week TT I was so worried because I had to go into surgery urgently without properly researching it, but all that worry felt pointless because after the surgery ended and I came out, I felt fine and was relieved. Right after surgery I felt nauseous and my stomach felt off, but after sleeping for a bit, eating, and reading webtoons, the queasiness disappeared too. Other than a little discomfort when moving my face, it hurts less now than it did yesterday when the tip of my nose was oozing and hurting, so I’m really glad. Usually people would write a review to share hospital information too, but since I had this done near my home, I probably can’t be much help in that regard. It’s just... even though this will probably never happen, people are forgetful animals... so I’m writing this review in case I forget what is happening now and start looking up revision surgery here by browsing around. <To my future self, just in case!!! Nose surgery is absolutely not okay!!! Turn back!!!>
