Eye Surgery Considerations

Named community review

Among the six places I consulted, the consultation fee here was the most expensive. They took a CT scan, took photos, and then I met with the doctor. At first, when they explained the process, they said the consultation time was limited to 20 minutes. After looking at the CT and photos, the doctor immediately started explaining my current nose condition in detail. This was the first time that I had ever heard such a detailed explanation about my current condition while looking through a CT carefully. Doctor Lee Byeongjun explained my current nose condition very well without me saying a single word. Since it would be a shame to remove autologous costal cartilage again, he said that if possible, we should go with reusing it. He seemed very sorry about it and said that if the situation is truly impossible, autologous costal cartilage may need to be harvested again. While he was explaining, the 20-minute consultation time passed in no time, and when he asked if I had any questions, I asked a few simple ones beyond what he had already explained. A staff member outside called the doctor twice, telling him that the consultation time was over and pressuring him, but the doctor kept explaining things to me. The pressure from outside felt a bit unpleasant, but I was thankful to the doctor for not minding it and continuing to explain. He explained very clearly that a dorsal hump nose is beautiful as a dorsal hump nose, so only a light refinement is needed. He said hump osteotomy is something done only for foreigners, Arabs, or people with very large noses, and that East Asians do not need osteotomy. Surgeries are done as two cases a day, morning and afternoon, and revision surgery is always done in the afternoon because of possible situations. That part honestly also left a good impression. If it had not been peak surgery season, I think the consultation would have lasted even longer. He seemed passionate about explaining everything he knew to the patient. The cost consultation was just the kind where they quickly explain the fees after the doctor's consultation. I felt a bit rushed. Even though it was the first appointment of the day, there were several patients there. Three were men? Two looked like they had come for follow-up, and one seemed like someone who would be having surgery. In the end, I think I will end up doing it here. I am very cautious and worried, but the explanation itself was different from the other places I visited. I will probably research more and then decide!!
