6 months after canthoplasty restoration review

Hello, it’s already been 6 months since I had surgery to restore my outer and lower canthoplasty. For a full 10 years, I lived with the outer corners of my eyes pulled down and fixed in place in an artificial way. As time went on, I hated how unnatural and fierce my eyes looked whenever I took photos or met acquaintances. In fact, it was not only the shape of the eyes. My eyes were always irritated and felt like there was something in them, so I became unconsciously more sensitive, and those other negative emotions piled up, which I think gradually made my overall impression sharper. In the end, after a lot of deliberation, I decided to go ahead with restoration surgery. ✨ Changes after 6 months Now the scar tissue that used to feel so hard has become soft, and the redness has gone down a lot. The outer corners of my eyes, which had been opened into a D shape, have come together into a sharp triangle, and I’ve finally returned to a normal eye shape. I no longer feel any foreign-body sensation, and the tight feeling when closing and opening my eyes has completely relaxed too. More than anything, the disappearance of the eye irritation that had been bothering me is what makes life feel most manageable. A lot of people may worry that eye restoration will make the eyes too small, but the director did not simply close everything up. He restored it while preserving as much of my eye length as possible, so I’m very satisfied with the size too. Actually, there is still a little scar tissue left, so when I laugh or take photos from certain angles, it suddenly catches my attention. Sometimes when I’m tired or the weather is cloudy, my eyes do feel irritated. But over these 6 months, there is something I truly realized deeply. Before, I was only fixated on making the eye shape softer, but a person’s impression is never determined by eye shape alone. Rather, because I stayed trapped in that complex, worrying only about my eyes feeling irritated or the scar tissue, my expression became stiff and my impression looked harsher too. I deeply felt that what I usually think about, and how I live my life while making facial expressions with my emotions, affects my impression far more. Maybe it really is true that if you smile often in life, natural and pretty muscles form around the face. So these days, rather than obsessing only over the surgical result, I’m consciously trying to smile more naturally and keep a relaxed expression. When I calm my mind, people tell me my face looks much better too. It’s not completely finished healing yet, but I’m trying not to rush and just watch how it goes. I think the remaining scar tissue will get softer with more time.
