Nose Re-Surgery

Removal Day Review_ Hongdae

I had it removed. A close younger sibling had had a lot of surgeries, so they said, “It’s really pretty. Just wait six months. A year later you won’t regret it being this high,” and I barely managed to hold out for 18 days, but not even for a single moment was it comfortable, my nose bent so breathing was incredibly uncomfortable, and I couldn’t even get a cotton swab into one nostril. Is this even a nose that makes sense, lol. I went to get it removed, but the removal device wouldn’t go in, so they couldn’t even remove it, lol

Anyway, I was under a ton of stress, so I kept searching only for reviews on my phone nonstop. No matter what review I read, it couldn’t beat my own height or my own sharpness. I also posted here to get evaluated and asked everywhere I could. There were a few tiny posts saying it looked weird, but if you like flashy looks it’s okay. I had asked them to make it natural until the very end I showed them Suzy’s nose, and compared with Suzy’s nose, mine was twice as high lol

I don’t know what would have happened if I had endured six months or even a year, but it was so hard to breathe that I woke up once every 30 minutes even while sleeping, and I felt like if I lived like this for six months I’d die. Because I was so stressed, my body started reacting. I didn’t sleep and just stared at my phone like crazy, my vision got worse, I had abnormal bleeding, I couldn’t eat, so I got no nutrition, I didn’t look human and my expressions were gone. I had no emotions. I was anxious every day.

So I went to Hongdae to get it removed. As you can see if you read my previous post, it was a place that takes two hours to get to, but since they open at 9:30, I left at 7. It was the road I’d taken to work for two years, and I felt really strange. I felt like I was dying all weekend, and I couldn’t even make an appointment so I just went without one. So around 9 I figured they’d probably already be at work, called them, explained the situation and said I was really sorry, and asked if I could go there and wait until they had time. They might have been in a bad mood, but they told me to wait. They were seriously kind I got lucky and didn’t have to wait long, and thankfully surgery was possible the same day.

A lot of reviews say they’re rude or that people got scolded, but they were really, really kind to me. They explained my nose surgery method with diagrams and let me ask everything I wanted. The nurses were also incredibly kind and everything was good. I couldn’t figure out at all what the problem was, because they explained at the removal clinic the surgical method that should have been done at the hospital where I originally had the surgery. I found that so ironic.

Toward the end of the surgery, the anesthesia wore off and I looked at my nose in the mirror. Since I had no implant, they said I didn’t need to worry much about side effects. I only had tape on, and for the first time today I ate like a normal meal, my appetite came back, I slept without waking up even once, and I got quite a bit of sleep When I touch my nose, it feels soft I’m so happy, it already feels like my real nose is back

When I said I had a daughter and a son, they said my septum was so lacking that the graft used to raise the nose was reinforced onto the support structure, and they also added a small graft to the alar cartilage. When they opened it up, they said there was only 6 mm of septum left. So it shouldn’t collapse, and they made it sturdy. Even after the anesthesia wore off completely, they explained everything, and I was so, so moved. It cost a huge amount of money, but if I had asked the hospital that did it to remove it, would they have reinforced it like that? I feel like they would have just removed it and washed their hands of me. I have 0.1% regret.

If you’re struggling like I was, don’t force yourself to endure six months. Go get an early removal consultation right away at least Anyway, if you’re curious about anything, I’ll help as much as I know. Private comments welcome ㄱ
