Nose Surgery Reviews

5-day review after nose surgery (autologous costal cartilage)

Day of surgery (D+1): The scar site from the autologous costal cartilage hurts like crazy. The nose itself is actually only uncomfortable because of the packing; otherwise there is no pain. Day 2: I couldn't do anything because of the autologous costal cartilage pain. Even getting up was hard, and lying back down was even harder. Swelling at its peak. Day 3: The autologous costal cartilage pain eased, and the packing was removed. I teared up a little during removal. The moment I tensed up my ribs, I experienced hell. The swelling has gone down a bit, but the bruising is still there. Day 4: Showering is possible. The autologous costal cartilage pain is manageable in daily life unless I force myself too hard. In fact, because I had been breathing only through my mouth, my throat became very swollen. Day 5: Aside from throat pain and itching from the splint, daily life is not affected. Swelling is still there.
