The reason I had the nasal bridge implant removed was that I hit my nose somewhere and the silicone shifted out of position. At the time, there was also concern about inflammation, and it was affecting the appearance, so I went ahead and had surgery right away and removed only the silicone in the nasal bridge. The septal cartilage and ear cartilage used for the tip were left as they were.
Fortunately, the removal surgery went well, and it has now been 6 months with no side effects, so I have been doing fine! They also did an inflammation reaction test during the removal, and they said there was no inflammation.
If I just wanted to live without being greedy, I could probably live with it as is..? But... once the silicone was taken out, I lost my confidence. I guess after living with it for more than ten years, I had started to think that was really my nose.
The tip is higher than the bridge, so that part bothers me so much T_T I am seriously considering putting silicone back in. It never really had an inflammation problem to begin with, and I feel like just adding silicone is a relatively simple procedure, even without an incision, so the burden seems lower...
What worries me, though, is contracture...? It definitely seems like the tip has gradually shrunk compared with when I first had surgery more than ten years ago. My original nose tip was a very thick bulbous tip, so in a way that slight shrinkage made it look more balanced and like a better nose(?)..
But if I put silicone in again, I am worried it will shrink even more from the current state and end up becoming the upturned-nose or contracture nose that people usually talk about as side effects. Has anyone removed silicone from the nasal bridge and then had it inserted again? T_T
