Hello. I had a revision rhinoplasty for a crooked nose using autologous costal cartilage, and now that it has been over 2 months, I’m leaving an update on my progress. It already feels surprising that it has been 2 months since the revision surgery, and time seems to have passed quickly. Before deciding on the revision, I was very worried because it was a reoperation, and since costal cartilage was being used, I was also very concerned about recovery, pain, and swelling. But now that I’m 2 months out, I’m very satisfied overall.
Right after the rhinoplasty, there was of course swelling and some awkwardness, so I thought I’d have to wait for time to pass before I could see the exact line. But compared with the 1-month mark, by 2 months the swelling has gone down more and the nose shape feels much more natural. In particular, from the front the nose line looks more refined than before, and from the side the tip line seems to have come out prettier, so I’m very satisfied when taking photos.
Since this was a revision surgery, I was very worried about the condition of my original nose, and I was also concerned that the crooked-nose feeling or the tip shape might end up looking awkward. Director Kim Hyunju seems to have shaped it in a way that suits my face without overdoing it. Before surgery, because of my nose shape I paid a lot of attention to angles when taking photos, and I felt disappointed from the side or at a 45-degree angle. But now it feels much more natural than before, and the overall atmosphere of my face feels more polished, so I’m happy with it.
Now that it’s been 2 months, it doesn’t feel like the swelling drops dramatically day by day; rather, it feels like everything is settling in gradually and naturally. The heavy feeling at the tip and bridge has also eased compared with before, and even when making facial expressions, it’s getting more comfortable little by little.
It may not be the final shape yet, but I already like it much more than before, so I’m looking forward to how it will become even more natural as time passes. More than anything, I thought revision surgery should be approached even more carefully than the first surgery when choosing the clinic and surgeon, and I feel glad that I chose to have surgery with Director Kim Hyunju at ALU Plastic Surgery. From the consultation before surgery, she listened carefully to my concerns, and I liked that she focused on improving it naturally to suit my face rather than making the line too dramatic.
At the 2-month mark, the swelling has gone down a lot, the overall look is much more natural, and I’m satisfied with the nose shape. I’m looking forward to it settling further over the next 3 and 6 months. I was very worried because it was a revision, but so far I’m recovering satisfactorily.
