Cheekbone Surgery Reviews

7-day review after 1st zygoma surgery

Day 1 I was really, seriously nervous on the day of surgery.. But I just got anesthetized and woke up in the recovery room, and 50 minutes after the surgery I woke up and walked on my own two feet.. I didn't feel nauseous or anything at all, but my throat hurt like crazy and I had a terrible headache. There was no bruising and no swelling. Day 2 More swollen than yesterday, and my throat still hurt and the headache was bad, so I kept taking Tylenol. I drank a little New Care Other than that, I didn't feel like eating anything. Day 3 From this day on I started to feel a little better. But when the bandages came off, I could see severe hollowing in my cheeks.. Day 4 Somehow even more swelling. A faint yellow bruise appeared under my eye. Not being able to eat properly was so hard. Day 5 I had dumpling soup. The cheek hollowing became a bit less noticeable, but I got more swelling Day 6 The cheek hollowing got lighter and the swelling went down a bit too. But I felt like a squirrel with a hundred candies in its mouth. Day 7 Today I went to the hospital, had the sideburn tape removed, and talked with the doctor. Looking at the CT, the bone was beautifully fused. They said the hollowing was because that area wasn't swollen due to the ligaments, and that it would improve more. But they also said cheek hollowing could still appear a little. Still, they said it isn't severe compared with other people.
