Nose Surgery Reviews

Male review of nose surgery with autologous costal cartilage + ear cartilage, from a named surgeon

I think I waited about two months just for the consultation. That made me feel that there are a lot of people like me who watched [Doctor A]'s YouTube channel and felt a sense of trust. When I met him in person for the consultation, it was not just something you feel from YouTube; he explained everything in detail, matched my personal needs and the look I was going for, and also told me step by step how to get as close as possible to that goal in a realistic way. My dorsal hump was not originally that large, but I wanted to raise the nose as much as possible within my limits while still keeping the hump-like feel. (I thought that to make the nose look naturally like my own, it needed to have a hump, and that is true in some recent popular Chinese cosmetic styles too..) In other places, if you wanted a lot of height, they would probably say you must make it perfectly straight with no hump at all and a sharp tip, but [Doctor A] seemed to share my aesthetic taste, so he said it should look natural, like a celebrity or an actor’s nose, as if it were my original nose, and that within those limits the direction should be to raise it as much as possible. Hearing that reassured me, because I was worried it might end up with that so-called overdone look. Since I never really had a hump to begin with, we could not create one from nothing, but still the overall nose came out looking naturally like it had always been my own nose. When the splint first came off, I thought, 'Hmm... it is not as high as I expected... is this right?' But as the swelling went down and about a month passed, it clearly looked more defined and higher. And as the columella came down too, the changes in my impression became more noticeable, and people around me started saying things like, 'You look like you lost a lot of weight,' 'Your face looks slimmer,' and 'Your features look sharper.' My nose was my biggest complex, so I used to try hard to take front-facing photos rather than side-profile ones, but now I prefer side-profile photos lol And after about two months, I started hearing and feeling more things like, 'It looks even more defined, and somehow higher?' I think it has now been about two and a half months, and since they say swelling can keep going down until six months, I am happy thinking it will become even more defined and prettier than this. After about two months, I started exercising and going to the gym again, and on weekends I began going out for various plans and hanging out in different places, and from then on I felt grateful to the doctor every single day. Things like, 'Your nose is so pretty~', 'It has a celebrity vibe~', 'Do you have a girlfriend?' etc.. I heard those without exaggeration at all, and I am pretty busy with work so I cannot go out that often, but every time I did, I heard comments like that, which made me realize how big the effect of nose surgery really is. Ah! And because it was autologous costal cartilage + ear cartilage, I just remembered the pain part and wanted to add it: maybe because the surgeon was so skilled, the only discomfort was for about one day when the nasal packing came out, and the pain from the costal cartilage lasted only about a week before disappearing quickly, so those pains faded from my mind. Other cosmetic surgery reviews often try to scare people with things like swelling and the pain from costal cartilage being unbearable, but for me it was not hard at all. With costal cartilage alone, for 1 to 2 weeks I had to sleep wearing a support band, so that was a bit uncomfortable, and there was some stinging pain so I had to be careful when lying down or getting up. That was about it. It has not been long yet, so I still need to see how things go now that it is nearing 3 months, but I am extremely satisfied, and this is not just polite talk: I am sincerely grateful to [Doctor A].
