Eye Surgery Reviews

I got double eyelid surgery yesterday and something upsetting happened

I honestly do not know if this is how this surgery normally is lol. I only went around visiting clinics and never looked up the surgery process, and now I regret that... I was so scared during surgery that my hands and feet went numb. 1. There was no explanation of the surgical process before surgery Since this was my first surgery, all I heard was that they would anesthetize me and tell me to open my eyes. I was never told that I should relax as much as possible while feeling sensations during the surgery, or that I should speak up if it hurt. I just lay on the bed, got anesthesia, and the surgery started right away. But the burning smell when they were cutting and the feeling of being stitched up was so hard... It was even more frightening because nothing had been explained. 2. I was disappointed by how the doctor handled the anesthesia wearing off During surgery, the anesthesia wore off and it kept hurting more and more, so my eyes were tensing up. Since it was my first time, I wondered whether this level of pain was normal? But the doctor kept saying, why do you keep tensing up? You will bruise, so it seemed like they were not really checking my condition properly. And I could clearly tell the anesthesia had worn off. It hurt while I was getting it done. Then when they were doing the inner corner canthoplasty, the cut with the knife hurt like crazy so I flinched a bit, and they raised their voice and said, You should not react to every little thing like that! What is the problem? Is it pain? If it hurts, say it hurts... What do you mean, feeling something? Do you feel it? It hurts? You are only feeling something? Say it properly. I was so scared. Sigh... So I said it hurts... They put in more anesthesia and finished up. I wish they had properly checked my condition and understood that, from the patient's perspective, this is something really scary, and instead helped calm the atmosphere a little. I was already in pain, my hands and feet were tied down, I was nervous, and my hands and feet kept going numb, so I could not understand why they talked to me like that. Anyway, they were rude to me. Of course, I understand that it is sensitive if I move during surgery. But I do not think it is right to act that scary toward a patient who is anxious during surgery. I was so scared that I cried at the end lol. The nurse told me not to cry. 3. A staff member forgot the aftercare instructions (this is legendary) I was told to go home right after recovery, so I went straight home. But usually they give aftercare instructions, right? When I got home and looked, there was only the prescription. So I called, and they said they were supposed to give me one but seemed to have missed it, then explained it over the phone and sent a photo of the paper. It feels like the system is not very well organized. The conclusion is that I will have to wait and see the surgical result over time, but I went there because I liked all the review photos and only cared about the aesthetic sense. If I had known they were this rude, I would not have gone....
