I had under-eye fat repositioning on February 28 first. The bulge was smoothed out nicely, so I was satisfied, but there was still a slight hollow feeling left in the under-eye groove and the area connecting to the front cheekbone. The director also said this area would have good synergy if we did fat grafting together, so after thinking it over, I had fat grafting added on April 27.
Anesthesia and pain (local anesthesia): To be honest, I was really worried because they said they would not use sedation and would do it only under local anesthesia, and I am a scaredy-cat. But to get to the point, it did not hurt at all. It was over quickly once I got through the brief stinging! There was no nausea from waking up from sedation either, so if anything, I am glad I chose local anesthesia.
Effect at one month (as of today): It has been about a month since the fat grafting, and once the slight remaining hollowness was completely filled in, my satisfaction with the procedure went up to 200 percent. Beyond simply making the under-eye area flatter, the added volume makes me look noticeably younger and more lively. The graft seems to have taken in a very natural way too.
