Right after the surgery, my nose looked so big and wide that I was really worried. I was told it was because of swelling, but I still felt anxious every time I looked in the mirror. Still, as time passed and the swelling went down, it gradually started to take on the shape I had wanted. They also checked the functional side at Itsby Clinic, and the fact that my nasal congestion improved really stood out to me. Before, one side was always blocked, so breathing through my mouth had become a habit, but now both sides feel clear and open. My skin is on the thinner side, so the tip of my nose is a little reddish, but they said that should improve with time. I’m being careful to apply sunscreen thoroughly. I’m still watching the recovery process, but it is definitely much more natural than at first, and from the side the nasal line seems to be settling in nicely too. This is what it means to address both function and appearance at the same time. The habit of breathing through my mouth while sleeping is gone, and every morning I wake up feeling that my nose is clear, which I notice every day. It is still healing, so I will need to keep watching the final shape, but so far I’m satisfied.
