There was mixed feedback during the consultation, and the options were divided into full removal and partial removal. For partial removal, I was told that if a dent develops on the nasal bridge, it could be compensated for with my own cartilage or dermis, and that the nasal tip probably would not need to be touched much. (This place does not have CT, sadly.) At the place that recommended full removal, they said that if they opened the nose and found a dent, they would remove it, let the swelling go down first, then after 6 months have a follow-up with the doctor and consider filler or dermis surgery.
They also said to leave the tip alone, because if they removed the silicone and the tip could not stay connected, it would end up as an upturned nose, so they would remove it all and reposition the alar cartilage. That discussion was made while looking at CT scans.
Mine was an injured nose, so the silicone has split in two, and I need it removed safely and the shape restored as much as possible, but I am torn because the opinions differ. It was my first surgery, and only the septum was used. For those who had a dent on the nasal bridge, what method did you choose? If I do full removal, will there be a lot of lifting or shape distortion?
