[This is a review 1 year and 3 months after surgery] I had surgery with Gore-Tex, and after 13 years I developed contracture, so in early 2022 I had revision surgery with Director Min Seong-gi at Made Young. I had surgery using costal cartilage + Megaderm, and the results were extremely satisfying. Before surgery my nose was crooked and my nostrils were asymmetrical, but they corrected it completely with a dermal graft, and the height also increased a lot.
Let me answer the parts I was most curious about before surgery: - How long does the Megaderm on the bridge keep lowering? : Resorption starts almost around 3 to 4 months, and by about 1 year it has almost stopped. - Does Megaderm on the bridge get absorbed? : Yes. From my experience, about 50% seems to get absorbed. So if it looks too high right after surgery, once all the absorption is done you get a beautiful, high nose. If it looks just perfectly pretty right after surgery, then one year later you might think the bridge is low. - Does it become bumpy after absorption? : Maybe. It does not become all wavy and bumpy like the scary photos floating around online. But it also does not become a smooth straight line like silicone. I think this is because the resorption rate differs a bit between above the nasal bone and above the cartilage, so the border between the nasal bone and the cartilage ends up looking a little more elevated in a natural way. I am male, and honestly I am even happier that it does not look completely straight because there is absolutely no sign that I had surgery.
I had concerns about using an implant again after experiencing implant complications more than 10 years later, so Megaderm feels like the best material for someone like me. At the very least, when I drink and stay up all night, I no longer have the psychological fear of getting inflammation like before.
Director Min Seong-gi is also famous for using Megaderm and for revision surgery, so I think you would not regret getting surgery from him. And his style seems to be very safety-first: he tends to avoid surgeries with a lot of risk and takes a very conservative approach.
