I had a consultation with Dr. Jo Yong-woo. I had gone there for a consultation specifically about under-eye fat repositioning, since it is a clinic specializing in that, but I really had to wait a long time before getting the consultation. The consultation itself was handled well and at length. But when he saw my age, he started speaking to me informally, as if I were younger than him. Even if that is the case, I think that kind of thing is basic courtesy, apart from surgical expertise, and I was disappointed. He seemed to be trying hard to make the consultation as good as possible, but he recommended lower blepharoplasty, saying I had more wrinkles than people my age. Objectively, my skin is not that sagging. He said it was a bit ambiguous, then recommended lower blepharoplasty, so I told him I had not considered that and that I was a little scared. Then he said under-eye fat repositioning would improve the dark areas somewhat, but the satisfaction would not be very high. I also had concerns about the shape and size of my face, so I mentioned those, and he said the uneven double-eyelid lines and the different distances under my eyebrows were caused by a forehead lift. I had truly never thought of that, so I looked surprised, and from that point on his attitude changed completely. He started answering very perfunctorily, and said something like, if you think that is not it, then just keep watching it that way. I was very upset. He seems to pursue perfection and also seems to have a strong pride in himself, but he should also consider the patient's perspective. Since this is a clinic that recommends forehead lifts and under-eye fat repositioning a lot, I think he was recommending a forehead lift from that point of view, so I ended up going to another clinic. The price was also really high. I decided against it because I did not think there was any need to go that far, and even if it were necessary, maybe I would do it when I am older, but not now. And doctor, many other patients are educated people too. I think if you treat patients that way, you may end up regretting it later.
