I went for a consultation to get cleft lip surgery. They showed me before-and-after photos of the surgery, but from my own eyes I did not really see a huge difference. It seemed more like a cleaner result, and the doctor also emphasized cleanliness more than dramatic change. During the consultation, they told me, "Honestly, you are not a pretty face" and "You are the kind of face that needs plastic surgery."
