I went to consult at 6 places in Cheongdo, and this was the worst of them. I had a CT scan again, and the doctor’s first words were that the septum could not be properly unfolded. Saying that no hospital can properly unfold the septum and that the length and sense of length cannot be changed much, while repeatedly closing the chart, made it look like he had no intention of performing surgery at all. During what was about a 10-minute consultation, I think he received the chart 5 times. So I actually felt sorry for the time I was waiting and kept trying to get the consultation going again. When I asked whether the septum could not at least be corrected to some degree, since other hospitals said they could correct a bent septum somewhat, the answer was only that it could be unfolded through a very troublesome method, but it could never be perfect. The same answer, over and over. And then he tried to close the chart again. I wondered whether this hospital could make a flashy-looking nose on the outside, but how much improvement could it really achieve functionally, and I left. The consultant was an older person, and while they did seem somewhat professional, the very strong, high-handed attitude may come across as confident assertiveness to younger people, but to someone in their 30s like me it came across as unpleasant.
