About a week ago, I had surgery for rhinitis improvement for a deviated septum and a nose surgery without an implant at the same time. It was also a nose revision, and I chose this because I had a clear desired shape but felt uneasy about silicone. I also did it for the functional side and to be able to claim actual medical expenses, and because winter had made things uncomfortable.
There were many negative reviews, and because it is a large hospital I worried they might do the surgery too easily and too quickly, so even on the morning of surgery I was not fully convinced, but the surgery itself was satisfying. During my first surgery, the pre-op consultation about eyes and nose was finished in about 3 minutes right before surgery, and they rushed into the operation. This time I brought photos and explained things carefully, and even right before surgery we discussed the shape for more than 10 minutes, and they listened well without showing any sign of trying to cut it short.
Right after surgery too, unlike my first surgery doctor who did not even show his face even after recovery from anesthesia (this is true for most hospitals with two or more directors, including my first surgery hospital), he came to the ward while I was recovering after anesthesia wore off and said the surgery had gone well and briefly explained how it was done. I stayed one night, and the nurses took good care of me late into the night, so it really felt like a 'hospital.'
They also check the progress at 1 week, 2 weeks, and 4 weeks, and each time I checked in with the director. During my first surgery, they said they would see me at week 2, but then subtly sent me home. These small details seem to help patients(?) feel at ease. Once the splint came off, the shape had progressed exactly as I wanted. I asked for detailed things like raising the tip angle without making the nose look too long, removing scar tissue, and making the bridge just enough from the eyelid line, and it seemed they handled everything carefully. They also gave me a splint and told me to sleep with it because scar tissue can form again.
I do not yet know whether inflammation will develop or how the shape will change, but with this kind of result for a surgery without an implant, I am really satisfied, and the director, manager, and nurses were all very kind (I really visited more than 20 plastic surgery clinics, but there are not many nurses who treat you like a real hospital and make it feel like an actual hospital). So even if a side effect does happen, I feel reassured that they would handle it properly. Maybe because many older patients come for functional reasons too. It feels like a university hospital or a neighborhood ENT clinic..? There is a reason there are not many reviews on the app lol
+) Personally, the location was also not in a crowded plastic surgery district, so it was easy to walk around with the splint on. I also deliberately had surgery with the only director who majored in plastic surgery, and communication was good. I liked the shape so much that I think I would have been satisfied even if I had chosen silicone.
