This is my first nose surgery, and there wasn’t a single place where the consultation was unfriendly; everyone was kind.
The problem is me. My preferences are very detailed and firm.
I’m in my 30s. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to know my unusually sensitive skin condition well, such as whether my skin really scars this easily, what type of scars form if I do scar, and what kinds of scars I got from tanning or laser treatments.
And since I’ve consistently had friends around me who had plastic surgery since high school, I ended up forming very specific wishes by putting together what I felt while seeing friends who experienced side effects or were not satisfied with their surgical results.
Please keep in mind that I had consultations with my own clear standards. First of all, the biggest criterion was whether it could be done with a closed approach or not.
1. ㄹㅂㅅ I was grateful that they said it could be done with a closed approach, but among the surgical photos this doctor showed me, there wasn’t a single nose shape I liked. I showed several photos I had prepared and explained more specifically, but the doctor kept insisting on the method they usually use.
The immediate postoperative aftercare looked very good.
2. ㅋㅂㅈ The doctor made and showed me a virtual nose shape on a tablet right there, so it was easy to understand. But the doctor did not understand the nose shape I wanted. Also, they firmly refused, saying it could not be done with a closed approach.
The aftercare seemed the most precise.
3. ㄱㅇㅈ I was glad because the doctor understood the nose shape I wanted 100% accurately, but they said it absolutely could not be done with a closed approach. The clinic was old, so I did not get the impression that it was clean, and there was no guidance about aftercare.
4. ㅈㅅㅌ The director seemed like they had no idea at all what I wanted. And when they said artificial dermis would need to be inserted, I thought this was not it. The clinic felt like it had too few clients.
I’m going to keep going to consultations. I plan to look into it for about another year, and if I don’t find a place that will do it the way I want, I’ll give up then.
