Since I was attending Konkuk University, I went looking for the most trustworthy dermatology clinic near Konkuk Univ. Station. Back then it was Cheonho Muse! I was torn between going to Gangnam Muse instead, but people strongly recommended this place. I do not really trust places that advertise too openly or get praised too much by too many people, so I like the feeling of a hidden local favorite. This place felt like that lol
Anyway, when I went for a consultation, the consultant came out and explained things to me. They talked about possible inflammatory side effects from laser hair removal, the need to moisturize well because it gets dry, and even said that jawline Botox might be good. I liked that they did not pressure me into additional procedures. The price they quoted was a bit high, though, but I used my mom card and paid in full right away before going into the procedure.
They said it was an Apogee something that uses a laser while blowing cool air, so it hurts less. The pain ranking was: everything else (not painful) <<< underarms (stinging) <<<<<< calves (ugh) <<<<<<< fingertips (burning!). Afterward, it felt red and dry. The doctor was very kind, talked to me throughout the procedure, and worked carefully.
The most important result after 5 sessions is... it has been about 3 to 4 months, and if my original body hair was ape-level, now it feels like about 20 percent fine hair is coming back? If I want it to stop completely, I will probably need 10 sessions.. Hair on my hands and feet still comes back the same as before T_T. Still, I am glad the hair has reduced a lot. What was bad was that I got a lot of ingrown hairs on my legs, and black spots from pigmentation started appearing everywhere... hmm, enough to trigger trypophobia, maybe? Hahaha. For now I will moisturize and leave it alone, then go to a dermatology clinic later if needed.. But I guess this might be a common side effect of laser hair removal! I would be willing to come back for other procedures too! For laser hair removal, I would go somewhere cheaper.. haha
