They said they would use the septum and ear cartilage, and if that was not enough, donated rib cartilage would be used. They can reconstruct a 3D shape from the CT scan so you can roughly see what you will look like after surgery. Rather than feeling kind, it felt more like they were trying to explain things sufficiently as medical professionals. What was disappointing was that there was no prior notice about possible postoperative dissatisfaction, such as scar tissue, and only when I asked did they answer.
