Starting with my review of hospital visits for canthal rewidening restoration~ It’s long.

It really felt like an old hospital. I was the only patient there, and I got in to see the doctor right away. I had the doctor consultation first, then the pricing consultation with the coordinator. That surprised me a bit. I expected to wait, but wherever you go... The doctor was calm, but I’m not sure about how detailed he was. He put a lot of force into drawing, so the lines shook. Still, he explained things in an easy-to-understand way by drawing directly with a pencil and walking me through it. I was surprised that the doctor could be kind. He didn’t use difficult terms, and it seemed like he meant stitching things together after gathering them. I didn’t get a strong impression, and it felt like it ended without any issues. The consultation coordinator had a flashy style and a brisk, refreshing vibe. There were several possible surgery dates. They wrote the price on a business card and gave it to me.

I guess plastic surgeons are all a bit meticulous. The clinic felt youthful~ It has a great reputation, but the doctor felt much younger than I expected. There are Lego pieces everywhere. I thought the doctor would be very lively, but he was calm and extremely meticulous. He seemed like a meticulous young doctor, so I thought he might also have a good aesthetic sense, which I liked. First, they measured the distance between my eyes. It seems like they don’t close it too much, and mainly make it pointy. I’d prefer a slightly natural rounded-pointed shape... Even the before-and-after photos from reviews weren’t that satisfying to me. They did say the shape of the front part of the eyelid fold can be adjusted. Still, the director personally gave a detailed and careful consultation. I also heard about the VY flap adjustment procedure here. They also mentioned axis rotation. It’s a new surgical method. I liked it more than ㄹㅍㄹ. The reviews are so good, there are many recommendations, and the doctor seemed young and meticulous, which I liked. They said they could improve the look of the eye corners with buried double eyelid surgery, which made me happy. They explained in detail that lateral canthoplasty and downward canthoplasty could improve things to this extent. They said the downward canthoplasty would be firmly fixed so it wouldn’t come undone. They gave me enough time to ask everything I was curious about and explained it well. The consultation coordinator was also young and fresh-looking. They told me the original price and the review price. It was on the higher side.

There were a lot of people at the plastic surgery clinic. The friend who came in with me seemed like she was there for treatment, and there were many people sitting around, plus some friends going in for surgery. I think there were a lot of kids there after the college entrance exam. They took a lot of photos from the front, 45 degrees, and so on with a camera. The coordinator’s consultation was very detailed. The coordinator looked experienced, and was kind and warm, so it was comfortable. I liked that they wrote down, one by one, what area I wanted treated and what surgery I wanted, then set priorities. They also looked at a lot of before-and-after photos together. The doctor seemed busy. I think the consultation happened before he went back in after surgery. The explanation was very fast. He explained using a black-and-white sketch based on my face. He explained the inner corner of the eyes in 3D. It was 3D, and structurally complicated, so it was hard to understand everything he was saying. He said the inner corners of my eyes were not that drooped. He said they had been cut well in a parallel shape, but because of shadows it looked severe. He said if they filled in the skin tissue at the inner corners to make them thicker, the shadows would be reduced and it would improve. Because the distance between my eyes wasn’t that close, he said he wouldn’t close the lacrimal caruncle much. Rather than closing with skin in a VY way, he talked about a method that fills in the inner corner. He had a lot of review photos and showed them to me. The doctor quickly found eyes similar to mine and showed me the surgical results.
He explained that they would cut the double eyelid, connect it to the inner corner, slightly loosen the original double eyelid line, and then make a new incision above it... He also explained how the line disappears. He honestly said he couldn’t say it would definitely get better. It would have been better if he had been a little kinder; if I didn’t understand, he seemed frustrated. It was the first clinic where they judged things by looking from the side too. They seem to consider the inner part of the canthal area a lot. They also explained the gap in the under-eye aegyo-sal area. Then I talked with the coordinator again. Both the doctor and the coordinator looked at my photos a lot and showed me many reviews. I could feel that they were trying hard to talk enough about the results I wanted and what improvements could be expected after surgery. I had to go to the next consultation soon, haha. The double eyelid and canthal restoration results the consultation coordinator arranged for me were nice. They paid attention to white scars and nail-like marks that I hadn’t been concerned about. Just double eyelid surgery and canthal restoration would already use up my entire budget. I don’t know about the lateral canthoplasty and eye-corner lowering yet... maybe later.

I came right after surgery ended, so he seemed very busy. If he felt I didn’t understand or that we weren’t communicating well, he got a bit frustrated. He was in a hurry. He showed me with Photoshop how it would look if I had canthal restoration. It wasn’t some amazing technique. Compared with ㅇㅅㅇ, they also took photos rather roughly, did a rough Photoshop on them, and seem to be following the manual they’ve decided on, as there’s no helping it. They say they specialize in facial contours and eye surgery. I worry when they don’t just focus on one thing. He said things like axis-rotation surgery were just wordplay, and I heard he compares them a lot with ㅅㅇ. I was a bit disappointed in ㅅㅇ for calling it wordplay.
It seems like they do a standard VY flap procedure. I waited a really long time, but the doctor wanting to finish quickly was disappointing. He said that doing the VY flap procedure includes inner canthal restoration. I liked that he explained it simply and in an easy-to-understand way. It seems he fills in the white scar where the space opens up. He said there isn’t enough space for lateral canthoplasty. He said the eye corner can be lowered a little with lower lateral canthoplasty, but he wouldn’t recommend it because the cost-effectiveness is poor. Even if they cut along the same line and do epicanthoplasty and ptosis correction, you still have to pay the cost of double eyelid incision surgery. He said the eye-opening improvement for the eye corner could be done together with epicanthoplasty. You don’t necessarily need double eyelid surgery because of the eye corner. The consultation staff member wasn’t bad. The inner corner of the eye was the top priority, and he recommended ptosis correction for when I’m in my 40s. He said even if I did get double eyelid surgery, photos would turn out well. Ten years ago it felt really burdensome... I kept thinking about the past, and I’m scared of postoperative swelling.
