I had double-eyelid surgery here when I was in high school. It was not something I wanted to do myself, but my mom had had surgery here together with her friends and acquaintances and came back saying they had heard it turned out well, so she brought me here and had it done for me.
The surgery went badly, so I got a big scar on my double eyelid... and the line became uneven. For several years I suffered a lot emotionally.
.. I looked into revision surgery to get my double eyelid done again, but at that time, wherever I went they said it would be difficult... so I gave up. Even plastic surgeons asked where I had it done. I could not touch my eyes.
My mom cried a lot after having my double eyelids done. She said she should have looked into it more carefully before getting it done for me.
It has already been 11 years. I have gotten used to it now and am just managing.
These days I hear there are many hospitals good at revision double-eyelid surgery, so I am gathering courage to go get another consultation.
Do not trust places that everyone says are just too good. Rather than being swept along by what people around you say, I think the most important thing is choosing a place that suits you well. And I hope nothing like what happened to me happens to you.
