As a pedestrian, I finally managed to meet the surgeon for the second time and finish the consultation. I had lived without any real understanding of deviated septum, but after recently exploring and learning about a hospital, I was recommended functional nose surgery, so I submitted my imaging there too and consulted about a functional nose. The director was friendly and easy to talk to. The surgeon seemed a little blunt, maybe because it was an unscheduled consultation. Still, he listened to everything that needed to be heard. I got the impression he would never take unnecessary risks. Even though I mentioned the functional-nose findings on CT at another hospital, he did perform functional nose surgery, but did not recommend it. That made me trust him. He also seemed confident about the outcome.
