※ Once something is already damaged, there is absolutely no way to reverse it. The clinic also cannot take responsibility.
Posts get temporarily taken down and, as a result, complication reviews are practically hard for consumers to see, so it becomes difficult to make the right choice.
Most apps and communities only have success stories posted, so if you are considering cosmetic surgery, please research everything carefully, think it through many times, and be cautious.
Also, as someone who has had surgery, I sincerely hope you will check stories in many places, including Naver Cafe, Babitalk, Gangnam Unni, and complication communities on cosmetic surgery apps, and make a careful decision.
It has been 9 months since the surgery.
Lower eyelid repositioning + dark-circle nano fat grafting + front cheek grafting were all done together
▶ Symptoms
1. One side of the face has been numb since the surgery
From under the eyes to the cheekbones, nose, and lips, it tingles and stings, and when I touched my cheekbone, my lips felt sharp and numb? Depending on the weather, it can even feel cold, and the symptoms vary.
2. The dark circles did not improve. (Later, when I asked the clinic for before-and-after photos, they said there were none. They said they discard them once the surgery is complete. Since the surgery, I had already complained about discomfort, etc. Even when I went back for follow-up and said I wanted to look at the photos to see whether there had been any improvement, I still could not check my own photos.)
3. Eyes with visible sclera on three sides (photo). One side under the eye feels stiff as if fixed in place, and when I smile, it is clearly visible that it does not lift normally.
The clinic recommended repositioning for the dark circles and grafting, so I had it done. Of course the dark circles did not improve, and losing sensation has been extremely stressful.
▶ Aftercare and response from the clinic
1. I cannot see my own photos (before/after). Even though I clearly complained about discomfort and said the dark circles did not improve, the fact that they said there were no photos is baffling, and I had already said multiple times that I wanted to compare the photos.
2. It is hard to get the director for follow-up and consultation;
I do not know if it is because it is a one-doctor clinic plus a small number of staff, but it is difficult to get replies by KakaoTalk or phone. There was a time I did not get a reply for a month.
3. They blatantly gave false information, saying that letting a guardian attend the follow-up would violate medical law.
There were so many things I did not understand that I said a guardian should come with me to the follow-up and listen, but they kept insisting it would violate medical law, so the clinic would be responsible and it could not be done.
After confirming with a lawyer, I strongly replied, "Director, I am just passing on what the director said."
Because of the false information, I lost trust, and the aftercare was also the worst. The cost was also the highest.
---middle section omitted--- argued with the clinic.
After saying I had no intention of doing any aftercare or follow-up, I demanded a full refund and an apology from the staff who had told me it was a violation of medical law.
After that, the general manager? section chief? whom I had never met in person said, "How about we end this with a half refund and an apology from me as the general manager?" and apologized.
(About staff apologies: they would internally make them write a written report for personnel management and ~blah blah If the economy is bad and they suddenly leave, the clinic would have trouble operating, and so on. A full refund would mean the director is admitting the surgery was a mistake, so that is not possible, and they tried to negotiate a half refund, and so on.)
It ended with my refusal.
Lower eyelid repositioning is definitely not a light surgery. So please research thoroughly and decide very carefully, and even if something goes wrong, I hope you do it at a clinic that provides good management and has strong responsibility. I hope there will be no more victims even after paying the price.
