I hated photos from the rear camera, so I had facial contouring surgery… Friends have been asking for clinic information lately

One-year review after facial contouring surgery at [Clinic A] (long post!) Hello!!! It has already been a year since I had two-part contouring surgery for a square jaw and chin at [Clinic A] with Dr. C, haha. Before surgery, I wondered when I would ever write a one-year review, but the time really passed quickly, haha. I had previously undergone one-part contouring surgery elsewhere, but afterward I became even more concerned about my heavy-looking lower face and broad front chin, T_T. My front chin was also slightly asymmetrical and had a retruded-chin look, so I truly hated seeing my face photographed with the rear camera, T_T! I had also had orthodontic treatment, and after having contouring surgery at a regular plastic-surgery clinic this time, I wanted to go to an oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic that could assess both my facial bones and occlusion. I knew [Clinic A] as a clinic specializing in orthognathic surgery, but when I looked into it, I found many varied reviews of square-jaw and chin contouring. There were also many reviews considering both functional and aesthetic aspects. The doctors had appeared on television programs and had worked in plastic surgery too, so they seemed to have a good aesthetic sense. I liked their experience in many ways, so I went for a consultation! When visiting clinics, I usually ask the consultation manager about aesthetic matters and ask the doctor detailed questions about the actual surgery. The manager's consultation was concise and there was no pressure to add procedures, so I felt comfortable!! The doctor looked at the X-rays and explained in measurements how much of the square jaw would be removed and how much the chin would be moved, which I liked, haha. Among the places I consulted, this was also the only one that took X-rays!! Having an anesthesiologist and sufficient nursing staff were important conditions for me too, so after considering everything, I chose [Clinic A], haha. For about the first month after surgery, my lower jaw felt heavy, as if it were tied with a rope, but it gradually became lighter. From then on, I could see that the front-chin asymmetry I had been most concerned about had improved, and much of the frontal swelling had gone down too. Comparing the before-and-after photos, the square-jaw line already looked quite different from month one, which was fascinating!! Of course, early on, the right square-jaw area sometimes felt tight when I yawned or ate, and when I touched it, the skin still felt swollen underneath. I could open my mouth only about two fingers wide, but I watched it as I recovered. By around three months, I could feel that more swelling had gone down than at two months, and I rarely felt inconvenienced by the surgery in daily life. The muscle below my lips sometimes felt heavy, but there was no asymmetry or functional problem. From that point, as my face shape became noticeably softer, styling felt subtly different too, which was fun, haha. I also seemed more feminine, and my face looked smaller. What was fascinating was that my weight was exactly the same as before surgery, but people around me often asked whether I had lost more weight, lol, hahaha (feeling called out ^^~). After experiencing it myself, I think advancing the chin affects the overall impression more than expected, not just the square jaw!! Also, after about six months, I practically stopped thinking about having had contouring surgery in everyday life. Sometimes people meeting me for the first time said my face shape was pretty, and that always made me feel good for no particular reason!! haha. I gained some weight midway, but I did not notice the contour sagging I had worried about, and I was glad my facial line stayed the same. On nights when I ate a lot late and went to bed, my front chin very occasionally felt tight, but massage relieved it quickly, haha. Around seven or eight months, swelling, tingling, and pain were almost gone, and I received dermatological treatments as usual. I even rested my chin on my hand without thinking about it, lol. Looking at old photos again then, I wondered, 'Was my impression really this different?' Since I see my face in the mirror every day, at first I wondered whether there was no real difference if others could not tell, but comparing old photos, the atmosphere created by my jaw and overall face shape was definitely different! I was especially happy that the facial line I had described as my desired look during the first consultation was similar to the line that actually settled in!! Before surgery, I agonized over how far to advance my chin, but since people I met afterward sometimes said my chin line or face shape was pretty, I also felt I had made the right choice going with this degree, haha. After passing ten months, the change was most noticeable in photos taken by other people. I used to worry about my face shape first whenever someone else took my photo, but now I like that I do not need to retouch the shape separately, haha. People around me barely know I had contouring surgery too, hahaha. Now it has already been a year, and I am doing well without any particular problems with my facial shape or function. When it rains or the weather is very cold, the areas with plates occasionally feel a little achy, but normally I hardly think about the surgery at all!!! Now I have to start considering plate removal, so the thought of another surgery is slightly frightening, T_T. Still, I plan to have the plate removal done at [Clinic A] no matter what!! I used to hate my face in rear-camera photos so much that I would look at my lower face first whenever I received a picture, but these days I feel much more comfortable looking at photos taken by others. Even when I gained weight there was none of the sagging I feared, and I like that my facial line shows more clearly again as I lose weight dieting. >_< After I told acquaintances I had had surgery, some of them also said they would get contouring surgery. Each time, I felt proud because it made me think the surgery had turned out that well! I began because of the heavy-looking lower face, broad front chin, and slight chin asymmetry that remained even after cheekbone surgery, but now I like the facial line running from the square jaw to the chin most of all. Personally, the biggest difference is what I feel in rear-camera photos and photos taken by others! I am not recommending plastic surgery, but if anyone is considering contouring surgery because of a heavy-looking impression like mine, I would give [Clinic A] a big thumbs-up and go, haha!!!
