I chose to have surgery because I liked how confidently the doctor explained things during the consultation, but after my first surgery I unfortunately ended up with nostril pinching, a shaky glabella, visible silicone, and a crooked nose. I was in college for aviation at the time, and my glabella looked unnatural and my face and nose did not suit each other, so even my parents came up for the follow-up check and I asked for early correction. During the surgery, they showed me a mirror while the nasal incision area was still open and not sutured, and asked whether the bridge height looked appropriate. Seeing myself like that during surgery was so frightening that 20-year-old me closed my eyes and only nodded. I'm sure many people had good postoperative results, but this hospital was very much not a good match for me.
