First of all, when I decided to get double eyelid surgery, I had set a few standards. 1. Is it close to home? (I didn't really have anyone who could pick me up or come with me, so I needed to be able to rush home on my own.) 2. Does it have a large and varied number of cases, regardless of whether the reviews are good or bad? (Plastic surgery is basically hit or miss anyway, and honestly, as long as it's done by a human, it can't succeed every single time. If there are lots of varied cases, I thought my own chances of success would at least be a little higher.) 3. Does it avoid overtreatment? (I had gone to a different place before for a consultation, and when I said I only wanted eye surgery, they kept pushing me to do my nose too and kept forcing a reservation even though I didn't want it. I wanted a place that would just explain what I actually needed.) 4. Is it a private clinic? (A factory-like place feels okay for procedures, I guess.. But surgery feels like it would come out too similar, which is scary. That's just my personal opinion.) 5. Does the operating room have CCTV? (I saw a movie that included surrogate surgery, so I got anxious and looked up a ton of related articles, and apparently there are more hospitals like that than I expected.)
Even with just these five conditions, the list got narrowed down quite a bit. So I visited about three or four places in person, and here the director's explanation was simple and clear. When I mentioned that another place had told me to do my nose too, he made an expression of complete incomprehension and said, 'Why?' For some reason I trusted him, so after touring the other places I ended up getting the double eyelid surgery here.
In the end, I think I made a good choice. All that research and running around in person was worth it.
