My mom had a facelift last year, and now that it has been a year I am writing a review. Actually... when my mom first said she was going to get a lift, I was a bit against it I had seen too many posts saying that if a facelift is done badly, the skin starts sagging again quickly.. I also heard that not all facelifts are the same, and that if the fascia layer is not properly lifted, it is meaningless, so I went to about 5 clinics just for consultations ㅓㅜㅜㅜ To start with the conclusion, it has been a year and it is still holding up well so far. Before surgery, the biggest concerns my mom had were the nasolabial folds and the sagging under the chin, and those have definitely lifted. But? People around her do not really seem to know she had a facelift.. Most of the feedback is just that her skin looks better or that she lost weight??? Personally, I am thinking I may want one in my 40s too.. When I went to see cases at the clinic, I realized people really do get facelifts starting in their 30s. In particular, there were also many cases of people who look like influencers getting facelifts. And what made me feel it might not be as huge an operation as I thought was that after my mom's surgery, she had some headache and tightness for two days and mostly stayed lying down, but after that she had none of that at all, so it seemed there were fewer aftereffects than expected. For two weeks she had to keep going to the hospital for things like hyperbaric oxygen, stitch removal, and removing the drain, so it was a bit inconvenient, but she said it was not especially painful. And a bit of TMI, but right after surgery my mom could not wash her hair, and the smell of her hair was the most stressful part; other than that she did not really have much discomfort If I talk about side effects, the facial sensation slowly came back starting around 3 months, and by about 6 months it had returned to normal. There was almost no temple hair loss, and the scar around the ear is so subtle that you would not notice it unless you looked closely. The sagging has been okay so far, maybe partly because she kept up with compresses and the facial support band consistently. My mom had Ultherapy and Thermage several times in her 60s, but honestly I could not really tell the effect. I felt that there is a limit to procedures as people get older, and that is why she decided on a facelift, but it does seem more definitive than doing procedures over and over!!!!
