I’m leaving a review one month after posterior lower canthoplasty.
First of all, if you want a visible change in appearance, this place is famous for posterior lower canthoplasty, so you’ll probably get the result you want.
However, I couldn’t find reviews that clearly laid out the pros and cons, so I’ll write what I felt one month after surgery.
Pros My eyes definitely opened up, and before surgery I didn’t like the stuffy, closed-off feeling and the upturned eye shape, but I feel like those parts have definitely improved. I’m gradually wearing makeup too, and before I used to consistently do lower-canthoplasty-style makeup, but now my eyes look open and refreshed even without necessarily doing that. Everyone I meet says the surgery turned out really well, and the director said I absolutely shouldn’t worry because it won’t reattach, so I think that’s good. The director and consultant are both kind.
Cons My eye shape didn’t become gentler. I wanted a soft, puppy-like look, and of course some people may get that kind of result, but I didn’t. If anything, I feel like my eyes look sharper. Looking into the reason, more of the sclera under the pupil is exposed, so one side became sanpaku eyes, and it doesn’t give a gentle-looking eye shape. It became a refreshed but sharp look.
My eyes were normally very uneven, so before surgery I emphasized that I really wanted this matched as much as possible, but that part wasn’t reflected, so honestly I was very stressed the whole time the swelling was going down. The hospital said they would keep an eye on it during follow-ups and take care of it, so I’m going to wait.
Entropion
Before surgery, I was told that entropion could occur, but honestly I didn’t think I would end up with this symptom. But after posterior lower canthoplasty, I developed entropion, and my quality of life has dropped a lot. It’s a symptom where the eyelashes keep poking the eyeball, and it’s so hard because it keeps happening not only in daily life but also when I sleep. When I asked the hospital, they said this symptom is unlikely to go back, so I would need entropion surgery. It was surgery I did to become prettier, so I wonder if this is right, and I’m so sad and exhausted that I ended up with this symptom.. I think it would be good to definitely know about this entropion, if nothing else, before looking into surgery.
