Before <before surgery> After <after surgery> My revision rhinoplasty was a success ㅠㅠㅠ I wanted to hear opinions about my nose from people other than my family, so I had only been leaving comments saying I had surgery, but now I’m finally posting like this. I had revision surgery for rhinitis + nasal valve functional rhinoplasty. After my nose surgery, my rhinitis got worse, so I relied a lot on medication until my nose stabilized. But I didn’t like my nose, the cost of medicine was a burden, and I was extremely stressed because of my nasal-sounding voice. Sometimes I even hated speaking in front of people with my nose exposed. Everyone knows that distinctive nasal voice, right? ㅠㅠ Anyone who has experienced it knows how frustrating it is. And as I kept taking medicine, it became less effective, and I heard taking too much isn’t good, so I just had a gut feeling… As soon as things stabilized, I would need to get surgery. So I made up my mind and immediately started looking into hospitals.
Can you see the difference in my nose?? ㅠㅠㅠ My family says it turned out well and looks pretty, but I don’t trust what my family saysㅋㅋㅋ No matter what, they just roughly say it’s pretty and fine. Even when my first nose surgery failed, they just vaguely talked about it, while my friends were making a fuss saying it was botched… So when I ask about things like this, I tend to ask friends or places like this more. Is it just me?? For now, when I look at my nose now, I do like it myself. The line came out well, just as we discussed together, unlike at the previous hospital, and I’m satisfied with the functional part too, without any issues. I originally wanted to post quickly and ask, but I had things to take care of around me and needed to settle down a bit, so I’m only posting now. Even when I tried to organize and write this long post, I was so busy because it was the beginning of the month ㅠㅠ When choosing a hospital, I realized while lurking that there were a lot of advertisements, so I only used recommendation posts as reference and worked hard going around for consultations. I really went to more than 5 places, asked around to find friends who had nose surgery, asked which hospital they went to if their results looked good, and I think I asked tons of questions both online and offline!
So I ended up going to a place that was good at revision surgery and where I liked the consultation the most. The reason I liked it was that the consultation was really long. They understood very well how hard it had been for me because of my first nose surgery ㅠㅠ After just one consultation, I felt like I had come out having received both nose-expert advice + psychological therapy. So even though I had studied what surgery I needed before going, I feel like I heard a lot of new things. They also pointed out things I had missed, so I was really grateful. Thinking about it now, I think they could even work as a lecturer or therapistㅋㅋㅋ They’re extremely passionate.
And I was surprised that the director personally managed everything. Maybe that’s why I actually felt more reassured. If there was one flaw, it was that it was a bit far from my home, which was disappointing. Still, I don’t have to look for another revision hospital, I got rid of my nasal voice, and my nose turned out pretty, so I can put up with that muchㅎㅎ I’m so happy because I succeeded after carefully going around for consultations, and I’m really glad I could start this year on a good note. If anyone is planning to get nose surgery or revision rhinoplasty this time, I hope you take my good energy and succeed for sure! Thanks for reading this long post. Especially for revision surgery, the more places you visit, the better! -A private clinic rather than a large hospital -Obviously, revision surgery is difficult, so it’s better to choose someone with a certain amount of experience -If you’re considering functional rhinoplasty, make sure to check whether an otolaryngology specialist is on staff -Personally, directors who had longer consultation times felt more passionate about that field to me
